Drew Barrymore Confuses Her Ex Luke Wilson by Prank Calling Him With Kate Hudson on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’: “Am I on a TV Show?”

Drew Barrymore is truly afraid of nothing, including prank-calling her exes. During today’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress had some fun with Kate Hudson as they called actor Luke Wilson, Drew’s former flame.

But Barrymore isn’t the only one who’s been linked to a Wilson brother. She and Hudson explained to the audience that they’ve each dated one of the famous brothers. While Barrymore dated Luke from 1996 to 1998, Hudson dated Owen Wilson from 2006 to 2009. When the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery star suggested they prank call one of the siblings, the two ladies got to work.

Barrymore, who admitted she hadn’t called Luke in 20 years, still pulled out her phone and dialed up his number. While she and Hudson played dumb like two confused callers who reached the Legally Blonde star, Luke quickly backtracked who he was when they said they were looking for the actor, even claiming his name was Lucas.

“That’s not me,” he said through laughter to which Kate asked, “How do you know Drew Barrymore?”

When he said he was in her movie Never Been Kissed, Drew couldn’t keep up the ruse as she told him, “I’m so sorry, we’re crank-calling people right now. Hi, it’s Drew. It’s so nice to hear from you. I’m so sorry.”

After explaining that she would call him again to “explain what the hell I’m doing,” the actor said it’s “always good” to hear from her, prompting Kate to ask if he’s currently single.

“This is Kate Hudson, who you’re talking to,” Drew explained, before he asked her, “What, am I on a TV show?”

Kate then quipped, “Maybe, we’ll see if you make the cut.” And we’re glad he did!

Once they hung up, Drew, who had praised Wilson for his “stellar” behavior during the call and referred to him as “wonderful” and “very cool,” revealed that she had been nervous about how he would respond when asked about their relationship.

She said, “I had no idea what he was about to say,” adding that it could have been “humbling and horrifying all at the same time.”

If one thing’s for sure, it’s that I’m definitely inviting Drew Barrymore and Kate Hudson to my next girl’s night.

The Drew Barrymore Show airs on weekdays at 9:30 a.m. ET on CBS.
